How do I Get Letters of Recommendation for Grad School?

In stead of trying to "get to know" your prof in a clroom full of people check your profs' office hours and sign in to talk one on one. As far as how well you "need" know a prof all depends on a variety of other factors such as your grades, attendance, etc... It's a good idea to volunteer as a research istant, this would be a great topic at that one on one conversation during office hours. Also, you must have an adviser of some sort, talk to him or her, they not only should be able to give you some pointers but also may even be able to give you a letter of recommendation. If you have to take a a test such as the GRE start studying for it NOW so that you will optimize your score. Grad schools look at a variety of factors not just letters of recommendation.
