The tape is a representation of societies abhoration of castration amongst female cows. By "dropping" this idea Blue October shows how they are "alone", a reference to mccully colchin in his movie "Home Alone" in which the main character is a child and is afraid of a furnace in his basement. The whole thng stems from Blue Octobers fear of VHI tapes.
